Blogzample

Apparently I've taken to combining words...Kinderventures, blogzample. I suppose its natural this day in age when couples are commonly referred to by their combined names. Think about it... Brangelina, Bennifer. I've just dated myself with Bennifer haven't I.

Blimey.

None the less, I think its ironic that for a blog, which is to be devoted to my adventures in the educational system, I've decided to make up words.

I'm gonna be a SUPER teacher. I plan to learn these kids good! I'll call it gearning (aka good-learning). Excellent.

The first few months of Kindergarten has been an adventure. Hence the title of this blog. I love my kids. They are equal parts awesome and gray hair provoking. I'm learning to manage better with each day, but I think I lost about a month of sleep in the beginning. Now I find myself making up for it by falling asleep everywhere. In the tub. In movie theaters. In my dinner plate.

Between lesson plans and actually completing the homework for my classes, I think I live in front of my computer. No, seriously. I have accumulated a collection of coffee cups which never seem to make it back downstairs. I know what day it is by how many cups are in front of me.

I have also stopped paying attention to my dietary needs. Last night, I had a bag of Cheese Puffs for dinner. Let me rephrase...last night I had 3/4 of a bag of Cheese Puffs. My cat ate the rest when I fell asleep with them on my chest.

I have also learned that as a teacher that you learn to live without water. Water for a teacher is like kryptonite to Superman. You don't have bathroom breaks. You learn to do without.

So after a month and a half of teaching I'm a graying, caffeine addicted, dehydrated fatty. You'll know me by the coffee stain on my shirt and orange cheese crust on my face.

This is gonna be quite a year.
